Leadership

Leadership involves the role and process of groups of individuals working towards visions, goals, or change on campus or in the community. A leader does not have to have a position of authority. Important elements of this professional competency: Education, training, development, and engagement.

In the course "Administration in CSP," we were put into teams in order to develop a professional development training. This handout is an overview of the presentation: "Five Components of Building and Effective Staff.” This information identifies the importance of: articulating the vision and mission of the primary unit, division, and institution; consulting with individuals with differing perspectives to make informed decisions; and how a manager can lead others to contribute toward the effectiveness and success of the unit, division, and institution.

Always looking for entrepreneurial and innovative perspectives outside of student affairs to apply to my practice by listening to podcasts and gathering professional development resources. Continually seeking out training  opportunities to enhance my leadership knowledge and skills.
